STRING BEANS / LILI CHORI

 

 

 

4 cups of chori / beans

1 tomato grated

2 teaspoons dhana jeeru

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon salt

 

 

For tempering

3 tablespoons oil

1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds

1/4 teaspoon asafetida

 

 

Cut the ends of the chori /beans. Cut in to small pieces, wash and set aside. In a sauce pan, heat the oil. Once heated add the mustard seeds and asafetida, let it crackle add chori and mix well. Add all the above ingredients except tomatoes, mix well and cover the lid and cook on a low heat stirring occasionally. When half cooked add grated tomatoes mix and cover, let cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until done. Transfer in a serving bowl and enjoy with Roti, daal  and rice.
